The Council Executive, Cruise Commodore, and Leadership Team wish to express special thanks to the Voluntary Boat Owner / Operators (VBOs) who donate the use of their sailboats and sailing experience for the cruise.  They are the primary reason this cruise is so affordable.

VBOs:  Carl Cannon, Ken Gasch, Mel Johnson, Michael Kies, Brandon McCrary, Jeff Michael, Guy Senter, Mike Shaw.  Among the many accomplishments of these sailors are the following:

      • Single-handing a 50-foot sailboat over 1,500 miles from Galveston, TX, to Beaufort, NC.
      • Delivering multiple private sailboats up and down the East Coast from Delaware to Florida.
      • 11 summers working as a USCG licensed Captain at Sea Base for week-long Scout trips.
      • Live-aboard sailing around the Bahamas for 6 months, including multiple single-handed voyages to and from the East Coast.
      • Racing Navy 44 sailboats against the US Naval Academy cadets.
      • 30 years of driving sailboats, barges, and commercial boats around the NC and VA coasts.
      • Teaching multiple years as US Sailing certified instructors for both small and large sailboats
      • Zodiac driver for HX Expedition cruises in Alaska.
